#5 Middlebury College 18, Connecticut College 3 Hogan Collects Three GBs for Camels

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. –(Middlebury Athletic Communications) Middlebury had little trouble Connecticut College, as the fifth-ranked Panthers (2-0, 2-0) handed the Camels (1-3, 0-3) an 18-3 loss on Kohn Field. Middlebury has now outscored its first two opponents 38-7 on year.

Connecticut College hung with Middlebury early, tying the game at 2-2 on a goal from Bri Miller with a nice feed from Heidi Halsted at the 20:59 mark. The Panthers ran off the game's next nine goals before a late tally by the Camels sent Middlebury into the intermission with an 11-3 lead. Ellen Halle, Laurel Pascal and Michaela Colbert each scored twice during the run.

 Middlebury picked up where it left off in the second half, with Colbert netting her third of the game cutting to the right to give her team a 12-3 lead. Souther netted her second of the contest with a feed from Halle just 23 second later. Emma Kramer and Lexi DeMarco scored just over a minute apart midway through the half as the Panthers pulled away for the win.

Colbert earned a game-high three goals in the game, while Halle scored a pair with four assists. Chrissy Ritter, Pascal, Souther, Kramer and DeMarco each scored twice. Hannah Deoul led the team with five ground balls, Catherine Fowler had six draw controls, while Souther earned four.

Miller, Lowell Abbott and Taylor Thomas each scored for Conn. Maggie Hogan earned a team-high three ground balls, while Abbott had a pair of draw controls.

Alyssa Palomba made four saves to earn the win, while Caitlin Cataldo made 10 stops for the Camels. The Panthers outshot their opponents 35-8 in the game.
