No. 8 Trinity Scores Four Unanswered to Down Men’s Ice Hockey Despite Rodericks' Career Effort

Connor Rodericks

HARTFORD, Conn. – Junior Ryan Petti (Tewksbury, Mass.) factored into a pair of goals in the second period to break a scoreless tie, but it wasn't enough, as No. 8 Trinity netted four unanswered to down the Connecticut College men's ice hockey team by a 4-2 score on Saturday afternoon at Williams Rink.

Petti set up freshman Steven Senese (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) just 1:48 into the middle period and then found the back of the net himself just 5:03 later. Trinity (10-3-3, 6-2-2), however, responded with two power play goals to get back in it and then got a go-ahead marker from Lucas Michaud at the 6:37 mark of the third. Nicholas Polsinelli added insurance with 4:01 remaining in regulation to seal the final outcome.

Junior Connor Rodericks (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) did all he could to keep the Camels in the game by making a career-high 51 saves. Trinity's Teddy Loughborough only needed to make 18 stops to pick up the victory.

Connecticut College (4-11-1, NESCAC 0-9-1), which only has conference games remaining on its schedule, returns home to face Middlebury on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
