Title: Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach

Joe Giordano ’17 is in his third season as an assistant men’s ice hockey coach at Connecticut College and seventh year overall in 2019-20. He is responsible for assisting head coach Jim Ward with all aspects of the program with an emphasis on recruiting, video and individual skill development.

Giordano, who also oversees the squad’s strength and conditioning program, was most recently a four-year letterwinner and team captain with the Camels. During his career, the forward registered 59 career points on 18 goals and 41 assists over 97 appearances. He also helped the team advance as far as the semifinal round of the NESCAC Tournament and earned a place on the NESCAC All-Academic Team for his efforts in the classroom.

Prior to coming to Connecticut College, Giordano was an ice hockey standout at Loomis Chaffee. He also played at the club level for the Springfield Pics in the Eastern Junior Hockey League and the Bismarck Bobcats in the North American Hockey League.

A native of Ellington, Connecticut, Giordano graduated from Connecticut College with a bachelor’s degree in history and economics in 2017. In addition to lettering in ice hockey, he served as a floor governor and house fellow through the office of residence life at the institution.
