Parens Honored on All-NESCAC Team for 2nd Straight Year

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Connecticut College sophomore specialist Ben Parens of Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. has been honored on the All-New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse First Team.

Parens won 214-of-325 (.658) battles at the X to rank fourth in NESCAC face-off wins.  He corralled 118 ground balls to rank fifth in the conference. A second team All-NESCAC selection in 2015, Parens has accounted for 228 ground balls and 409 face-off victories to go with 11 goals scored in his first two seasons of action.

Under the direction of Head Coach Dave Cornell, the Camels made their sixth appearance in the NESCAC Championship in the past seven years.

Parens played a major role in the team's success with his work in the trenches, winning 78% of his face-offs (91-for-117) in the team's seven wins this spring.

In a key 9-6 victory against intra-state rival Trinity College April 6, Parens was 14-for-19 at the X for the Camels and had six ground balls.

In a 21-4 win against Colby March 26, Parens scored on the opening face-off to set the tone for the hosts. He won 17-of-18 face-offs to go with his game-best 12 ground balls.
