BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Connecticut College men's tennis team dropped a non-conference dual to Babson, which is ranked 18th in the Northeast Region, by a 9-0 score on Thursday afternoon.
The Camels were competitive in doubles play and came up short by a mere one or two points in all three matches. Senior Will Cannon (Fairfield, Conn.) and junior Guillermo Garcia Rincon (Cáceres, Spain) fell 8-7 by losing a tiebreaker, 7-4, for the final point at the top spot.
Cannon and Garcia Rincon also fell just short in their singles matches as well. At No. 2, Garcia Rincon came up short by 7-5 and 7-6 scores. Cannon, meanwhile, went the distance before eventually being outlasted by set scores of 4-6, 6-3, and 11-9 from the No. 4 position.
Connecticut College (5-7) will look to get back on track when it resumes NESCAC play at Trinity on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
