NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Connecticut College coed sailing team placed sixth among 10 schools at the Southern New England Team Race over the weekend.
Utilizing a young squad featuring five freshmen skippers, the Camels won four races in each round over Eckerd, Roger Williams, Michigan, and Vermont. Junior captain Carter Pemberton led a group of skippers which also included freshmen Tommy Whittemore (West Hartford, Conn.), Gordon Gurnell (Old Saybrook, Conn.), CJ McKenna (Harwich, Mass.), Walter Henry (Syosset, N.Y.) and Will Bedford (Arlington, Mass.).
The coed squad will next host the Staake Team Race beginning on Saturday, March 23.
