ABILENE, TEXAS – Sophomore Skylar Morgan (Pittsburgh, Pa.) won singles and doubles matches to help lift the Connecticut College women's tennis team to a 6-3 triumph over Hardin-Simmons and its fifth straight victory on Monday afternoon.
Morgan first teamed up with classmate Meredith Kenny (Scottsdale, Ariz.) to take down Sabra Zullo and Emily Shaffer by an 8-6 score at No. 2 doubles. She then defeated Kyra Mobley by set scores of 6-4 and 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
Sophomore Paige Braithwaite (Skillman, N.J.) put forth a strong effort by coming from behind and outlasting her opponent in three frames at No. 3 singles. Set scores were 5-7, 6-4, and 10-8. Senior Emily Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.) and junior Rachel Weiss (Great Neck, N.Y.) won in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, while senior Mariah Warren (McLeansville, N.C.) and freshman Brooke Scully (Winchester, Mass.) captured No. 1 doubles by an 8-2 decision.
Connecticut College (6-2) will look to conclude its spring break trip to Texas with an unbeaten record when it faces Dallas Baptist later on Monday afternoon.
